Anime

I have been watching animes lately. Only one really caught my attention, Vampire Knight.

Read the manga after I watched episode 1 of Vampire Knight. It did not disappoint me. (=P)

I am so addicted to it now. Love the plot and characters.

The storyline:

On a snowy night, a young girl who was at the mercy of a blood-thirsty vampire was saved by another vampire. 10 years after that faithful night, the girl (Yuki) became the guardian of the Cross Academy where she was brought to by the kind vampire (Kaname).
Cross Academy is a special school with 2 sessions. The Day Class for the humans and Night Class for the VAMPIRES.
The role of the guardians is to prevent the Day Class from knowing the true identity of the Night Class. Together as guardian with Yuki is Zero, a vampire hunter.
4 years ago, Zero was brought back by Principal Cross after his entire family was wiped out by a vampire. For these past 4 years, his hatred for vampires increases and it did not help that he was slowly and painfully transforming into what he hated most - Vampires.
Leading the vampires in the Night Class is Pureblood vampire, Kaname. In the vampires' bloodline, Pureblood is the highest, followed by the nobles, ordinary, ex-human and finally Level E. As Purebloods are small but extremely powerful, they lead the nobles who will in turn keep the lower levels in hand.
Kaname is the descendant of the Kuran family, once the Kings of vampires, whose parents died a mysterious death regarded as suicide. He was once kind-hearted and innocent but slowly changed into a vampire with evil aura. He only has a weakness and that is Yuki. Anything related to Yuki is everything to him. He only breaks his 'mask' and smiles warmly in front of and at Yuki.

I pray that Yuki will be with Kaname instead of Zero and Zero will be able to kill Rido to lift the curse. (=D)

Ice cream

What is your favourite ice-cream?
I only have 1.

PADDLEPOP RAINBOW

It was my favourite in primary school and I still adore it. (=P)
But, it is so hard to get it nowadays. Either it is sold out or the shop doesn't sell it.

Today, I managed to grab 3. (=D) So happy.
Found out a fun fact about it.

Rainbow ice-cream came about because Paddlepop don't want to waste the leftover so they came up with Rainbow ice-cream. (n . n)

Someone HELP me

I need HELP badly!

Please tell me what should I tell my student's parent to convince her that I cannot teach her son anymore and leaving out the fact that I don't want to teach her son anymore.

I told her that I will be starting school in August and have 6 students on hand that I cannot stop tutoring. Gave her at least 1 month advance notice and suddenly she wants me to continue teaching. I told her that my exam will be very near her son's 'O' Level exams so I cannot risk both his and mine results by either squeezing out time to tutor or not tutoring him during that period.

At the same time, I told her that I have a friend, who is really good in accounting, who can take over me to teach her son. She said she doesn't wants any disturbance. Yet, she said if I really couldn't find time to teach, then I could ask my friend to teach her son. (-.-')
Isn't it better to let my friend take over now?

Regarding why I don't want to teach her son anymore is because I don't see the point of teaching someone who is ungrateful. I was the one to pull him from a failing grade to an A2 in 'N' Level and he thanked his school teacher. If the school teacher is that great, why did he fail in the first place and need a tutor? By the way, he said that in my face and I was stunned and boiling mad at the same time. But I kept my cool since I already decided not to tutor him anymore.

So people, please help me!!!

Sleepy

Just finished watching a Korean drama, Bad Couple.
It's a comedy cum romance show.

Dang Ja, an editor of a fashion magazine, is a modern career woman. Friends around her are married with kids while she remained single. A short stay with her friend's daughter, she decided to give birth to a baby girl of her own without getting married.
Rejected by the Sperm Bank, she decided to look for the 'perfect genes'. She found botanic professor, Gi Chan.
Gi Chan is the only heir of his noble family and shouldered the burden to carry on the family name. He is a very conservative man. In order to accomplish her mission, Dang Ja have to persuade and lure Gi Chan into having a baby with no commitment.

But, being someone who doesn't believes in sex without marriage, Gi Chan is determined to woo Dang Ja and marry her.

This drama is really funny yet sad at the same time. Other than the leads' story, the stories of Dang Ja's friends were also nicely presented in the drama. If you are looking for a drama with a less common plot, I will recommend this. (=>)

To Poor Lappy

To Poor Lappy:

Thank you for your hard work for the past 3 years. You served me well for 2 years and 9 months.

You accompanied me through my projects late into the night. You accompanied me through all the emotion fits I have. You 'quenched' my 'drama thirst'.
You are very loyal.

BUT

You are getting slow nowadays. Even at this very moment when I am typing away, you are still showing the sentence: 'BUT'. You are taking forever to start up now. You took up 1 hour of my time just to start your 'engine' today.
2 minutes to close a tab, 2 minutes to open a new tab, 3 minutes to allow me to type something in the address bar and 1 minute for me to switch from Firefox to MSN.

I am really sad that you will be retiring really soon. (='<)

Please don't forget me.

Love,
Your Owner

Laptop

My old laptop (notebook) is going to retire pretty soon. 3 years of use is what I can maximise out of the poor lappy.

Bought the lappy 3 years ago during my birthday month and I have been pushing every single specs to the maximum these 3 years. With a AMD Sempron processor T2800, 256GB RAM and 40GB hard disk, I am surprised at how it served me well these years. I had no intention to fork out another $2K just to buy a new laptop but the poor lappy is retiring soon. Starting 2 months ago, the screen frequency is starting to fail and the system hangs and runs really slowly when I have only 2 programs on.

Even since these problems started to appear, I began sourcing for a new laptop. Something light and fast. It doesn't needs a lot of functions, just the normal functions will do. It must fall below $2.5K. These are my requirements.

I did my own research on the latest processor and recommended memory for Vista. I decided on at least an Intel processor of 7000+, 2GB RAM and 160GB hard disk. Next, I decide on what the size and weight of the laptop that I am willing to accept. Probably between 12" to 14.3" and weight to be below 2.3kg, considering that I may need to carry the laptop to and fro NUS for 3 years.

After deciding on the minimum specs I need, I started sourcing for a reputable brand that meets my requirements and within my budget. Dell and Asus are the 2 brands that I have been contemplating for the past few days. I didn't include Fujitsu and Toshiba due to budget constraints. I rather pay lesser to get more.

Dell was kicked off the list yesterday as the specs offered though meet my requirements is more expensive. So I am left with ASUS. I checked various websites for reviews, Notebook Reviews and Hardware Zone.

After much more thinking and research on the prices, I decided on ASUS F9SG. 12.1", approximate 2kg (with 6 cell battery), Intel 2 Duo Core Processor T8300, 3GB RAM and 250GB hard disk for $2298 or $2098.

Such a great deal and how can I miss it? I am heading down to Sim Lim tomorrow to find the best deal. (^^)

Lalala

La La La~

The 'grandmother' drama is finally ending. (=D)
There is this show on Channel 8, weekdays, 4.30pm to 5.30pm that has been going on for a freaking 2 years already. (-.-') I really hate this show, so draggy and so 'grandmother' like.
This show started off when the characters were all still youngsters, moved on to their marriage lives and now their children's lives. Total of more than 500 episodes. *Faints*

I am SO happy that it is finally ending!

-

Woke up really early today at 6am. Actually I woke up at 5+am but didn't really get off my bed till 6am. I couldn't sleep as I had no idea what would the briefing from the vice-Dean of FASS be like.

Left my house at 7.15am to the MRT station and I am so glad that the whole journey only took me barely 1 hour and 30 minutes. This is so much better than the journey to NTU (almost 2 hours).

Just realised that Queenstown is so near to NUS. (=D) Hehe. Maybe I can psycho my uncle into renting me one of the rooms so that I don't have to spend 3 hours travelling back and fro from NUS. (=B)

I am just plain lazy. But you can't blame me. Throughout my whole life now, my school had never been more than 30 minutes time away from my house.

My kindergarten is just a 5 minutes walk from my house.
My primary school is only a 8 minutes walk from my house.
My secondary school is ONLY a 3 minutes walk from my house.
MJC is 30 minutes away from my house by bus.
AND, TP is only 15 minutes away from my house by bus which is inclusive of the waiting time.

Now that my university will be 1 hour and 30 minutes away from my house, I just cannot get use to it. But, I believe that eventually I will.

After an hour and half 'journey to the west' (with the Monkey king =P), I finally arrived at the Central Library of NUS. I was told by my bro's friend (in NUS Engineering) that FASS is just behind the library.
BUT,
I couldn't find the place where I was supposed to go to, Shaw Foundation Building.

I walked around the whole of AS6 and then was led to AS1 and AS4 by an exchange student who told me to ask someone else when I was there. Asked a lady there and she led me to a strange place where I didn't know where I was. I turned back to the canteen and approached a couple more before I was told the right direction to AS7. (=B)
Found it but was 10 minutes late.

The briefing went on for almost 2 hours and I got to ask some questions regarding Economics after a long wait. No thanks to the auntie who cut my queue to talk to the in-charge of Economics. The daughter is no better, she knew that I was queuing but didn't bother to stop her mum.

Seems like the younger batch has no manners. (>,<)

TP

I WENT BACK!!!
After a zillion years. LOL.

Went to the library to look for Vanessa. Realised that the stupid lift can now access to almost every level when it could only access to a few levels when we were studying? (-.-')
Erm... well, the library started this new policy only during the last semester of our final year. I didn't go to the library during the last semester so I didn't get to 'enjoy' the newly implemented 'rule'. (;<)

Enough of my grumbling. (=P)
I dropped my bag in Project Room 10 with Vanessa and left in search for Economics reference books. I was so stupid that I looked into the section of Econometrics. I just speed-read the title, grabbed the book and started flipping. I cannot understand a single word and I thought I will be so dead when I go to uni. Then I started to notice the extra "etrics" at the back of "Econom". (-.-")

Stupid, isn't it? Finally managed to find a book that is related to "Economics" and not "Econometrics". LOL. Went back and started studying the topic on 'Output and Cost'. Spent 2 hours reading 5 pages. (=B) Finally managed to understand the short-run graphs and the concepts. Also realised that I drew the graph wrongly. Hehe.

It was only slightly after 2 hours, I had to left to give tuition and had to photocopy the rest. Haven't got the time to read about long-run yet. Hope that I can do it tonight.

Through these, I realised something. When I start studying, I will have breakouts. (-.-')

Tired

I don't know why am I so tired today.
It is not like I did a lot of things yesterday and I have more than enough sleep.
Unwillingly, I stepped out of my house to my student's place.
Tutored 3 of them straight in a row and the 4th was so unwilling to have tuition that I called it off.

Kind of upset and angry about it. No matter how unwilling the rest are, they will still have tuition with me as long as I schedule a slot for them.
But I was also happy at the same time as I could finally head home for my dinner.
My stomach was making strange noises even since I started on the second student. (=P)

In the end, I didn't head home straight away.
I went to TS to look at the dramas available.
Spent a long time looking for a good drama but just cannot make up my mind.
I know I wanted 'Smile Pasta' but have no idea if I should get 'Bull Fighting', 'It Started With A Kiss 2' and 'Full Count'.
Anyone has any dramas to recommend? Will be great if you can recommend me some Korean dramas. (=D)

Anyway, if you want to buy any dramas or shows from TS, let me know. I have a discount voucher of 20%. Have to use it by the end of this month but I want to use it by end of this week. It can only be used on non-NETT price items.
So let me know. (=>)

Economics

I realised I already forgotten everything about economics. (=<)
1 general topic and 5 topics into microeconomics left me half-dead.

I cannot imagine what will happen when I go to uni but I am not ready to give up yet. I will try again tomorrow to conquer "Output & Cost".
This topic is really tough. I cannot remember how to draw the graphs and how I reason things out. Best of all, my brother didn't learn this before and I cannot find it on his notes.
That means I am on my own to figure everything out.

Guess I have to head to TP on Tuesday to flip through the reference books. Anyone want to join me?

My weakness

This is for fun once again.

  5. Disorganised (I don't really have the habit of putting things that I take out back into place) (=P)
  6. Lazy (If I can don't walk, I will try not to walk)
  7. Short-term memory
  8. Cannot remember where did I put my things (Eg: comb)
  9. Extremely stingy (Things I buy for myself is usually the cheapest while I get good ones for others)
  10. At the same time a spendthrift (On dramas)
  11. Low self-esteem and confidence (Only confident in topics or subjects that I understand very well)
  12. Very peculiar about how others handle my stuffs (Eg: books and CDs, etc)
  13. Cannot stand people sitting on my bed
  14. Easily influenced by others
  15. Very stubborn

  18. No insects and lizards can ever be in e same room as me
  19. Cry easily
  20. Very emotional
  21. Cannot coordinate my left and right hands

These are so far all of my weaknesses that I can think of.

Passion

Remember the 'Passion' notebook that I said I will definitely get if I get into uni this year?

I am not going to get it.
(=;<)

INSTEAD,

I am going to use the 1 for $0.50 exercise book.

-

I spent a very long time deciding what notebook to get in both Popular and Artbox.
The 'Passion' notebook is not available when I went to Artbox yesterday. Popular also seems to be moving out soon and many of the things were already packed in boxes. Didn't manage to find a cheap and nice notebook so I am going back to the exercise book that our school teachers love to use for spelling, etc.
LOL!

No complaints about it, I love this feeling of fully utilising a notebook and I get this sense of satisfaction when I managed to fill the book with words, numbers and diagrams.
(=P)

-

I am starting to use one of the exercise books. Am currently revising on Economics as I pretty much decided on what to take in uni.
According to Weiting, Wei Bing is struggling for Economics.
I want to do well therefore I am starting to read my lecture notes and also borrowed my brother's lecture notes to read and compare.

Managed to revise on 4 topics of Mircoeconomics yesterday night. Not a bad achievement as I haven't studied for a very long time. Had some trouble recalling what is Economics about. Glad that I am starting to revise.

(^.^)

Driving

I decided to learn driving yesterday as I might get to drive next year.
(=P)

Headed off to Ubi Driving Centre at 2+pm and waited for my queue number to be called for an hour.
(-.-")
I almost decomposed there.
My queue number was A192 and when I reached, they were serving A149.

After a SUPPPPPPEEEEERRRRRRRRRR long wait at the Admin Service Centre, they finally called my queue number.
Spent a couple of minutes there to register and book a slot for the Basic Theory Test
and
TA DA!!!~

Wish me luck. (^^)

Hohoho.
I managed to draw the lines above and below my eyes.

BBQ Checklist *Updated*

This is just for fun. Wanted to do a checklist.

BBQ Checklist

  1. Fire starter
  2. Charcoal
  3. Lighter or fire matches (LOL, if you forget this, you can forget about barbecuing)
  4. A3 aluminium tray (I set up the fire in a tray instead of using the barbecue pit as it is easier to set up and easier to clear. Remember to punch some holes at the side of the aluminium tray to keep the fire strong.)
  5. Wire mesh (Unless you want to barbecue right on top of e charcoals or the already distorted and blacken metal bars)
  6. Plates, forks, chopsticks
  7. Spoons (Optional as you may not need it)
  8. Serviettes
  9. Cups, drinks & ice (Barbecued food are pretty dry and oily, don't forget drinks)
  10. Brush and butter (To give an extra crisps and taste to your food)
  11. Trash bags (Be a good citizen and throw away things at the end of the barbecue)
  12. Tongs
  13. Water dispenser or 2 1.5L bottles (you can mix the syrup and water in the 1.5L bottle instead)
  14. FOOD!!!~

  2. Prawns
  3. Sausage or hotdog
  4. Crabstick

My FIRST acceptance letter

I am super happy yet very stress now.

Received my FIRST acceptance letter from NUS yesterday.

I was so happy until a couple of hours ago when others asked me why did I pick Arts and Social Science.

Now I also wonder why.

I don't like Humanities and neither do I like Economics. Just why did I pick Arts & Social Science?

(?.?)

I looked through what FASS offers again and thought the only few that I will be interested in are Japanese Studies, Psychology, Sociology, Political Science
and maybe Economics.

Japanese Studies, Psychology and Sociology are for interest. But where can interest brings you? Plus FASS is not exactly a specialised degree but more of a diversified degree.

Economics and Political Science are for practical reasons.
ARGH!!~

Didn't get into U makes me stress up and now that I am accepted, I feel the stress again.
(-.-)
I am so hard to please~

Waiting for NTU and SMU replies. If I get into Accountancy of SMU or NTU, I will definitely drop the offer from NUS but fat hope. With a GPA of only 3.44, who am I to fight with those who scored 3.7 and above?
This is so demoralising. When I once thought 3.44 is still a pretty good GPA, I get to know people who got 3.7 and still did not get into Accountancy.

Japan and Taiwan Entertainment

I am so happy!!!~

I alighted at Bedok interchange today to find I-weekly featuring my favourite Japanese actors, Yamashita Tomohisa, Oguri Shun and Tamaki Hiroshi.
(=P)

I only merely glanced through the newspaper stand and I saw them on the cover. Hohoho.
I haven't bought a single copy of I-weekly for months and have been focusing on U-weekly which is more compact and informative.
It seems that it was calling out to be at the newspaper stand. Lol.

Bought it and I really love the content for this week because it featured a lot of Japanese dramas, movies and not forgetting my favourite actors.
(^.^)

Moving on to Taiwan entertainment.

I haven't been watching Taiwan dramas for about 2 months.
I only managed to finish watching 'Bull Fighting' last week when I had nothing to do.
Love the ending to bits. It was so sweet.
(=P)

Wanted to catch up on 'It Started with a Kiss 2' this week but somehow I stopped watching only a couple of minutes into the show. It is not because the show is boring but I just don't feel like watching.

Decided to find out more about the new show that is taking over 'Bull Fighting' slot and realised that it is by Chen Qiao En and Ethan Ruan, a very fresh grouping. The storyline seems interesting and I am glued to it already. Sadly, there are only 3 episodes.
WHY???~

I still have to wait a few days before episode 4 will be slowly making it's way out.

ARGH!!!~ I want to watch episode 4!

Makeover

There is a ghastly encounter part 2 but my mum don't want me to scare my younger brother so I am not going to post it here or anywhere else. It is scarier than the first.

That's for all for ghastly encounter.

I decided that I wanted to keep memories of me still being 20 before I hit 21 in July so I have been searching online for good makeover stores.

Shortlisted Beauty Box and TheMakeoverInc for their cheap rates.
(=P)

Still, I cannot make up my mind, I went on to search for TFP (Time for prints or Trade for prints) but I decided the photographers will probably dump me the moment they see me. Lol.

I know nuts about makeup and always ended up with more than I intended and paler than what I expected.

So I thought a makeover store is still safer.
Seek advice from Peggy and in the end I am getting free shoots. LOL.
She will be doing the makeup for me and her friend will be doing the shoots.
OMG!
So lucky.
(=P)

I am going to get personal and private tutorial from Peggy on how to put on falsies.
(=>)

By the way, I spoilt the falsies that I bought from Bugis Street that day.
(-.-")
