My laptop died

My laptop died on me before I left on my little trip to Australia. Even though I sent it for repair before I left and have been back for a couple of days, the repair status of my laptop is still at 0%. I wonder just how long will it take for my laptop to come back to me.

On my way back from the airport, my brother told us that all the computers (desktops) were dead as well. How shocking. The only survivor among all the computers and laptops at home is my bro's laptop which is also in need of servicing. Thankfully, my bro managed to sacrifice his desktop to save one of the desktops which explains why I am using one now. =D

I am still waiting for my laptop to be revived before I upload pictures from my trip and blog properly. So, do check back once in a while. =)

When I was having my exams, I wanted to update my blog so much but once exams were over I wanted to slack as much as possible. I think I am just trying to distract myself from studying at that time.

Now that exams are over, I kept slacking in front of my laptop and TV. Been watching Queen Seon Duk the very next day of the last paper. It is definitely a drama worth your time to watch. I have never love a drama so much that I even love the evil characters. This is definitely the first.

Queen Seon Duk is a Korean period drama about an abandoned princess who unknowingly entered the palace disguised as a boy, serving under her twin sister (the princess). Her reason to remain in the palace is to find who exactly is she that the powerful Misil wanted to kill her from birth. When she finally discovered her true identity, Misil wants to capture her to dethrone the Emperor and the Emperor's loyal subordinate wants to kill her to protect the royal family. The drama tells the story from before her birth to her being the first Queen of Silla.

There is also another drama which I caught during the exams. You're Beautiful, is a contemporary Korean drama about a pop idol group - A.N. Jell. The group is recruiting a new member but due to a problematic cosmetic surgery, the new member was to leave for corrective surgery before he was to sign the contract. Desperately, the manager decided to approach the new member's twin sister to disguise as her brother to sign the contract and move in with the other A.N.Jell members(all males). This is a comical romance drama. Also worth your time to watch.

I HAVE NO LIFE!

I need to scream, I need a break and I can't wait for this semester to be over.

I have been keeping to my resolution with little variations. However, I realised I have totally no life this semester. I spent my recess week doing project and studying for my mid-term, mid-term week to catch up on my readings and films (for my modules), weekend doing my projects plus tutorials and today doing my E-learning! I have no life. My life is only filled with school work and nothing else. I seriously hope December will come quickly. I deserve a break!

People who saw me watching films during this semester kept thinking I am back to my favourite entertainment - watching dramas/movies, but NO I am watching films as a requirement for my modules. Can you imagine watching documentary, recent movies, animes, black-and-white movies and finally doing an analysis of the films? I enjoy watching shows but really hate it when I have to watch it from an academic point of view all the time.

My only sources of entertainment for these 3 weeks are making mooncakes, watching The Legend (太王四神记), and playing Sunshine Ranch and Roller Coaster Kingdom on Facebook.

I seriously need my life back!

Going to MIA from my blog

I am going to start going MIA from my blog soon. In fact, I always do but never inform in advance. Haha. School is going to start next week and I am going to be really busy cause this is the first time I am taking 5 modules in 1 semester and most of them are very heavy. Hence, I will start going MIA until I find the time to blog.

Before I go MIA from my blog, I want to share some bags I bought recently. Waiting for the seller to update me on the postage charge.

Ankle = Irritant *Edited*

I am so irritated with my left ankle. I sprained my ankle at least 3-4 weeks back and even though I had visited a sinsei for it but it is still not recovering and probably getting worse. =.=

I have no problem walking and jogging but my ankle is still swelling though it is not very obvious if one does not compare but I can feel the swell and slight pain which started appearing a few times this week. Used the ankle guard but it doesn't seem to work this time round. I am comtemplating between going to the doctor tomorrow or back to the sinsei. Seriously pissed about it. I wish I can just chop it off and end of story.

*Edited*

Decided to go to the sinsei as per advised by Bernard. Went just now and had 3 needles poked into my poor ankle. The sinsei told me it got worse because this is a very old injury and I walk too much so my ankle did not recover and got worse. Therefore, I have to refrain myself from walking too much meaning more bus rides or cab rides. T_T My pocket is starting to bleed.

Kelly bought clothes clothes

Hehe. Happy happy. I bought clothes. =) One from Bonito Chico (one of Leanne's favourite blogshops) and one from Lolliepop Bestie. The denim frock from BC was already sold out when I saw it so I ordered through backorder while the one from LB was pending when I saw it and thankfully the deal fallen through so I get to buy it. Hehe.

However, new clothes also mean I have to throw some out if not Mummy will start nagging. Guess I have to start throwing them out on Saturday. =[

By the way, did I also mention that my shoes from the spree had arrived last week? Exactly the day after my birthday. =D Birthday presents for myself. Gave Mummy the yellow pumps as she likes that kind of design and that pair is super comfy. Kept the other two for myself. Double happiness. =D

Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince

Yeah! Tomorrow! So excited!

I really love the books but I don't really fancy the movies very much cause they are not very informative and detailed like the books. However, we can't blame the directors cause they have a time limit to keep to. I can't imagine if they cut every single serial into 2 parts and release them months after the first part like 20th Century Boys, I think I will faint. Haha.

Other than the fact that the movies are not as good as the book, I also don't really like the characters they picked out. I am fine with Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliff), Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint) and Hermione Granger (Emma Watson) but I really don't like Ginny Weasley (Boonie Wright). I mean in the books, she is supposed to be very pretty and rather quick-witted but the movies totally destroyed my image of Ginny in the books. If only Harry can end up with Hermione instead. =D Hermione is prettier and smarter. =P Haha.

Can't wait to see what is in stock for us in the movie tomorrow. =)

Shelter

Today is my 3rd time at the shelter. Took pictures of some of the doggies but they didn't turn out very good cos they were either moving about or taking a nap after lunch.

The mongrel pup resting against the trolley.
Dollas, the GR.
"I am so FULL!"

"Move away, I want to sleep"

Doris, lab retriever; Mario; Debby (think that is the name). You also see Xiao Bai behind the gate and Dakota's (husky's) butt behind Xiao Bai. Hehe.

Happy Birthday to myself

It's a very quiet birthday for me. No celebration as it is too close to my grandpa's passing but my mum promised me a cake on my lunar birthday.

Thank you for those who wishes/wished me 'Happy Birthday' today and for the presents prepared for me. Thanks a lot for making the effort of remembering or checking Facebook.

Had a very meaningful birthday today. It is the first time I went to a dog shelter as a volunteer and surrounded by so many dogs at once. Didn't do much as we are new so we only feed the dogs. They are so adorable and friendly though I am a little afraid of Bobby/Dobby (don't know which is the actual name) cause he is known to bite but he did not and though I dare not touch him, he also did not disturb me. =)

There are 1 GR and 1 Lab Retriever there or at least we believed to be GR and Lab Retreiver, they are very friendly, Dora kept coming to us for pats while Doris just laid on the floor.

The 6 pups are also very friendly and cute, one kept jumping on me while the other kept biting my slippers. They are all pups of Danny/Denny who is the father of the 6 pups, however, they have 2 different mothers.

Among all of them, my attention is caught by Daisy who kept hiding in the cubicle and wary of the other dogs. She is very docile but bitten recently by another dog. Poor her, she is now afraid of her fellow housemates. Hopefully she will get better and start playing with the rest soon. =)

Officially bored of Sims 3

I am OFFICIALLY bored of SIMS 3! I started playing the day after I posted my last post and I finally got bored of the game.

Now I started wondering why did I get addicted in the first place. LOL.

It seems that I am only addicted to games for a really short time before I get bored of them, Restaurant City and Sims 3 are the best examples. Haha.

I finally realised that I still prefer dramas. Hehe.

Polaroid photos

SQUEEZE!

We, who decided to cam-whore. LOL.

"Everyone, closes the eyes. Ok, 1, 2, 3." *Snap*

The birthday girl's friend, as well as mine. Hehe.

A video of a birthday prank we played on the birthday girl. Hehe.
In case you are wondering what prank we played: The day before the party, there's a BBQ and the birthday girl asked what did we get for her. After a moment of thinking, I replied that we were getting her a box and on my way home I thought of playing a little prank on her. =D I asked my other cousins if they agreed to it and they all did so I took out the watch (with the pillow and warranty card) from the box and bubble wrapped it into another box followed by putting in a really cute coaster (also a gift) into the box. We kept waiting for her to open the present and when it was time, I just had to video it down. LOL.

EDITED: IT'S DEAD!!!

IT'S DEAD! *Evil laughter*

Fr3b

I just received my samples from Fr3b and caused them a bit of trouble because I forgot to take note of the transaction reference. =P Love the samples though I haven't started trying them out.

But I love samples. Wahahaha. Samples give you a chance to try out the products to test their effectiveness and suitability before paying bucks for it.

I used to pay hundreds over dollars just to try out different products which some ended up unsuitable for me yet I am unwilling to throw them out and stop using them since they cost a lot. I think Fr3b is a really great idea, allowing you to try the samples, give your reviews of them and to read the reviews of the products by others. That's why I love Fr3b. =P

There are some new stuffs available on Fr3b, check it out if you have not. =D

PERFUMES, BB CREAMS, SKIN CARES, HAIR CARES, NON-EXPOSURE TAPES, ETC

Lizards are meant to be on the walls NOT FLOORS

ARGH!!!

I spotted a BIG FAT LIZARD on the floor in my room today. I screamed and shouted for my mum and the LIZARD probably has the biggest shock in ITS life and quickly crawled back under my brother's bed. When my mum finally came in, IT was gone.

When I finally forgot about the BIG FAT LIZARD, IT decided to remind me of ITS existence by appearing on the floor again. I screamed and shouted again and IT crawled all over the floor (ok, not everywhere but a semi-circle from IT appeared). Mum managed to came in on time but the LIZARD disappeared again when the insecticide was ready.

Mum was really brave, she shifted the stuffs and the LIZARD came jumping out and crawling on the floor and out of my room. She chased after IT and sprayed the insecticide.

I have no idea if the BIG FAT LIZARD is dead or not but even if IT is, I am still having the goosebumps from seeing IT so close to me.

LIZARDS, LISTEN UP! YOU ALL BELONG TO THE WALLS, NOT THE FLOORS AND DEFINITELY NOT MY ROOM! GET OUT OF HERE!

Shows that I am watching

Mr Brain

This show is great. It is a detective show but the lead is not a detective but a neuro-scientist who suddenly became a genius after an accident that damage part of his brain. This show will teach you some interesting facts about our brains such as how to train your brain and how to detect liars. Fantastic show but there are only 4 episodes so far as it is still airing in Japan. Highly recommended. Lead is Kimura Takuya.

Shining Inheritance

This show is about a girl who suddenly experienced the lost of her father, betrayal by her step-mother and step-sister and the disappearance of her autistic brother. Incidentally, she saved a granny who is the chairwoman of a very famous company and ended up moving into her house and facing her daughter-in-law and grandchildren. As if life is not difficult enough for her, the grandson of the granny is dating her step-sister and the daughter-in-law of the family is a friend of her step-mother, and she is told to keep quiet about everything. She kept her promise but her step-mother and step-sister bad-mouthed and spreaded untrue facts about her. I like this show because of the complicated relationship and I want the step-mother and step-sister to suffer a terrible ending. (Evil Kelly, wahahahah)

Kelly is right-brained

Kelly is right-brained, meaning she uses her right brain more than her left, therefore please tell her the main idea in future before you move to the smaller details. =D

Just for fun, I did a test to check if I use my right or left brain more. I always thought I use my left brain more since I am right-handed and it has been assumed that right-handers use the left brain and vice versa. However, it seems that I use my right-brain more.

Right-brainers are known to be holistic, random, concrete, intuitive, non-verbal processing and fantasy-oriented processing. I guess that suggests why I can't understand lectures. Haha. Lecturers do not have the habit of giving a broad picture before beginning the lecture, therefore it usually takes me until after the lecture and during revision to understand the lecture. Furthermore, I am a non-verbal processing person, I learn better with images or diagrams rather than a long description of something. Plus, I need to feel or touch something (concrete) in order to understand. At the same time, I am a intuitive and fantasy-oriented processing person. I based most of the things on intuition and when it doesn't, my sub-conscious mind will enter my day-dreaming world. Haha. Most importantly, I am a very random person. As and when I like it, I can change the topic/subject. =D

Therefore, please tell me the broad picture first before you tell me the smaller details in future. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated. =P

And, I need to start training my left-brain such that I can be a more linear, sequential, symbolic, logical, verbal processing and reality-based processing person. Haha.

DO you know you CAN train the side of your brain that is less regularly used with one simple exercise? If you want to train your right brain, look with your left eye and vice versa.

If you spotted me on the road with my left eye closed, I am training my left brain. =D

A test

Thanks to Shi Yun for the link. I think this test is quite true or at least for me. Everytime I did this test, it always give me something slightly different. Does this mean that I have changed over the years?

A lot of people had told me that I am pretty straightforward. True enough. Sometimes I really do not know how to mince my words. Other times, I try to phrase my sentences differently. However, I still can't change that part of me and probably won't change it. =P

Test

Your view on yourself:

You are down-to-earth and people like you because you are so straightforward. You are an efficient problem solver because you will listen to both sides of an argument before making a decision that usually appeals to both parties.

The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for:

You are a true romantic. When you are in love, you will do anything and everything to keep your love true.

Your readiness to commit to a relationship:

You are ready to commit as soon as you meet the right person. And you believe you will pretty much know as soon as you might that person.

The seriousness of your love:

Your have very sensible tactics when approaching the opposite sex. In many ways people find your straightforwardness attractive, so you will find yourself with plenty of dates.

Your views on education

Education is very important in life. You want to study hard and learn as much as you can.

The right job for you:

You're a practical person and will choose a secure job with a steady income. Knowing what you like to do is important. Find a regular job doing just that and you'll be set for life.

How do you view success:

You are afraid of failure and scared to have a go at the career you would like to have in case you don't succeed. Don't give up when you haven't yet even started! Be courageous.

What are you most afraid of:

You are concerned about your image and the way others see you. This means that you try very hard to be accepted by other people. It's time for you to believe in who you are, not what you wear.

Who is your true self:

You like privacy very much because you enjoy spending time with your own thoughts. You like to disappear when you cannot find solutions to your own problems, but you would feel better if you learned to share your thoughts with a person you trust.

Shoes!!!

I LOVE SHOES! BUT mum hates to see new additions to my 'collection'. I am buying behind her back now. =P

This is one pair that I like but sadly I don't have clothes to match this pair so I didn't get it.

I think this pair is sweet too. But it looks a little uncomfortable so I didn't get it.

I love this pair for its uique design but I doubt I will wear it out so again I didn't get this.

Now, the few pairs that I bought:

This is 1 cheap pair of pumps that I bought. It costs $7.70 only. Hohohoho.

Wedges. This pair caught my eye and I knew I must get it. Hehe. It costs about $16.

Another cheap pair of shoes. I like this pair because of its simple and heel-less design. It also only costs $7.70.

New members to the 'family'. Looking forward to their arrival. =D
