Ghastly encounter

This happened right in my house at where I am sitting at now.

When everyone at home were asleep last night, I was blog browsing for interesting entries to read.

Those who know where is my laptop now will know that on my right is the altar where the deities and my great-grandparents are being placed at and there is nothing on my left except a few metres away which is the window.

Living in a common 4-room flat, the doors of 2 of the rooms are somewhere near to the altar and the other door is in the kitchen to make way for the altar.

I was blog browsing and suddenly I started hearing voices of someone (male) on my right and it seems that whoever the voice belongs to is quarreling with someone else. Thinking that it could be my grandparents, I started listening carefully to the voice and tried to make out what he was saying.

After trying for a couple of seconds or perhaps 1 minute, I gave up and try to locate the source of the sound. I went into my room first because I thought it could be my brother who was speaking in his dreams but silent. He was sleeping soundly. Then I decided to enter my grandparents' room. I opened the door slowly and what invited me were snores.

I began to sweat. My god, where did the sound come from? I kept wondering and decided it was time to sleep and quickly shut down my laptop, switched off the lights and hurried into my room, onto my bed.

The funny thing is after I checked both my room and my grandparents' room, I did not hear the voice anymore. This really gives me the goosebumps.

To top it all, this is not the first time something like that happened to me but luckily the last is a couple of years back.

I am trying to console myself that it is my great-grandfather trying to get me to go to bed or my deities feeling that it is too late for me to be awake.

Whatever or whoever he/it is, it succeeded in hurrying me to bed.

Ken Lee

Before:
After:

Stained

ARGH!!!
As the title suggests, it is stained.
( ;-[ )

I knew it is almost 'the time' of the month but irritably, I forgot to safeguard myself before leaving the house today.

Only when I start to feel the slight cramp then I realised 'it' is here.
To top it all, I was wearing white shorts today.
(-.-")

Fantastic. Two tiny stains on it and though it is not very noticeable, I decided not to embarrass myself by taking a cab home.
And,
this is the first time in my entire life booking a cab and the total ride costs me a good $11.80.
Which is also the only time in my life that the fare comes up to that much when I only ride for a short distance.
Kudos to the uncle for taking the route with the longest waiting time at the traffic lights.
Not just 1 traffic light but almost 5 of them.
(-.-")

Should have called my uncle to send me home since he lived nearby and is at home today.
Just my luck.

Bugis Street

I went on a lonely shopping trip today.

LOL.

Not so lonely as I do enjoy shopping alone. Look at things you want, walk back as many times as you like. Take your time to compare prices and try on clothes.

Set off to Bugis Street after posting my brother's stuffs to him at the post office.

Walked rounds and rounds around Bugis Street.
Bought earrings first. 3 for $5, it's a big bargain.
Bought a grand total of 6 from 2 different shops.
(=P)

All the earrings are big and bulky so that it can match my shoulder-length hair now. Hehe.
Then I bought 2 spaghetti tops, pink sleeveless top and 1 white wide neckline long dress top.
Wanted to get myself a fashionable ring for casual use but can't find one that can fit my finger.
(-.-")
Sad. I have very thin fingers and it is hard to find rings that can fit well even if it is adjustable.

After shopping around for 2 hours or so, I set off to my god-mother's shop which is situated at the recently affected Golden Landmark. Sat there and chat with her for 3 hours before heading home.

While waiting to cross the street towards the MRT station, I received a call from Wan Xin and we (with Vanessa) decided to go to Bugis Street to do a little more shopping. It is not exactly shopping for me since I already bought what I wanted.

BUT
I still bought a pair of fake eyelashes and glue to try. Hehe.

Had to leave early as I have a long day tomorrow and is tired from the walking and shopping. Hehe.

Off to bed. Tata.

Addicted and 21st

OH NO!

I am addicted to this Pasar Malam food, fried you tiao with fish paste.
This is really bad. It only started appearing about 2 years ago at Pasar Malam and I am addicted.
I have to eat it every time I see it.

HOW?

21st Celebration

I have also been planning my 21st birthday celebration since a couple of months ago as I am trying to list down the people I wanted to invite.

Finally managed to come up with a list but I am still not very satisfied yet.

CAUSE I cannot invite all my friends.

(=-[ )

I have about 60+ relatives from my paternal side coming, they are always included in my family celebration.
My maternal side, I think I will only be able to invite Peggy and her family and that's all.
If I were to invite every single one from my maternal side, I will die. More than a hundred will come.
(-.-")

As for friends, I decided on about 50+ so far.
Some, I have already lost contact and need to find them through our common friends.

Pray that I will get the Pool Terrace.

Clothes

Strength-less

My body aches and I don't have the strength to get out of the house.
Very sensitive to words and emotions for the past few days.

All these took place only after

RULE #1

(-.-")

I have to force myself out of the house everyday and to sleep at night.
After Rule #1, I started having this post-movie symptoms whereby I fear going to bed and being left in the living room ALONE.

(o^;^o)

I think my 三魂七魄 is half gone. Lol.

Rule #1

This is quite a rubbish movie.

Watched it with Wan Xin and Vanessa yesterday and it is damn scary at the beginning but very lame at the back.

The tension that the beginning of the movie managed to build is great. It is scary and I almost wanted to dash out of the cinema.

Then as the scene moves to a cinema, everyone in the cinema became rather rowdy.
Lol.
Who wouldn't?

But it is also because of this scene, the story started getting boring and lame.

Spirit can 'transfer' from one person to another by touching the person and the ending is rather sudden and confusing.

But, the Queen of Dramas, managed to understand it.
(=P)

It is really not worth watching if you are hoping to watch a horror movie with a good storyline. But if you just wanted to have a good scare, this movie is definitely for you. Then if you cannot understand the ending, feel free to seek 'enlightenment' from the Queen of Dramas.

Gathering *Updated*

Toilet war between Jia Ying and Wei Tian.
Met Jia Ying and Wei Tian in the toilet and they started a mini war of taking candid shot.
(>.<)

After dining at Pastamania, we did a little shopping around.
Met Izyan outside Phin's and had a small little chat.
Went to a new shop, Art Box (did I get it correct?), which sells Korean stationaries.
They are all unique and cute but expensive at the same time.
(-.-")

I was surprised to find a storybook there. "Passion" is the title of the book.
Actually it is a notebook but all of us thought that it is a storybook initially. I will get it if I get admitted to uni this year.
(^. ^)

There are pencil cases, pens, pencils, erasers and many kind of cute and unique stationaries. Really have the urge to buy something there.

That is cash box made out of cardboard.

Cute and nice pens.

You saw it? That is the GIANT banana. Lol.
I was wondering what was that at first and only realised it was a banana when I took it down from the shelf.
(=P)

Pencil case. Just take a look at how unique it is. I might get one for myself tomorrow but it is kind of too cute and expensive for the time being as I still do not know where will I be in July.

When I walked out of the shop, I noticed Vanessa and Wei Tian talking to a guy and I went forward assuming that it must be someone from poly as Shi Yun, Yan Ting and Jia Ying gathered at one corner.
Indeed it is someone from poly, Jeffrey.
( =] )
Chatted for a while and we parted to continue our mini shopping.

Shi Yun and Yan Ting, both bought the same pair of shoes as me from the Converse Fair except that it is in a darker shade of brown and the price increased to $24.90 instead of $19.90.
I got the better deal.
(=P)

When all the shops closed, we went to the nearby playground and settle down for a chat.
A very random and relaxing chat.
Well, the sky turned to red and it started to drizzle.
(-.-")
The weather is not so fine afterall.

Small chats with friends whom you haven't meet for a long time is great. Looking forward to meeting more soon.
( =] )

*Updated*

Before I met the girlies, I went to TS and Poh Kim to change the defective disc.
I was super pissed with Poh Kim.
TS just ask which disc is defective and what is wrong then they change the disc for me.
Poh Kim doubted my words and played the disc in front of me and go to the part which I say there is some problems. Furthermore, the staff said that I spoilt the disc by forwarding it when she, herself, also forward the disc.
(>:-[ )

For friends who borrowed dramas from you, you should know that I am someone who takes care of my discs. They are very precious to me and the accusation made me really mad.
The staff unwillingly changed the disc for me and wrote down on the receipt that I change the third disc.
Sickening. I am a regular customer to both TS and Poh Kim and this is how Poh Kim treat their customers.

( ]:-< )

Never am I going to shop at Poh Kim again!

Bright and sunny

It is so rare these days to see the sun.

Today is a really fine day, the sun is bright and most importantly, there is no rain.

(^.^)

There is basically nothing to update, just typing for fun. Lol.

Spent the whole of yesterday cleaning up my shelves. I thought the amount of dust accumulating should not be too much but kind of surprised at the colour of the water after I cleaned up.

(=P)

Rearranged the things on my shelves and throwing unwanted stuffs away. As compared to the massive spring cleaning before CNY, this is really nothing.

OH NO, just remember that I did not clean up one of the shelves. (-.-")

-

I am hungry NOW!!! Waiting for time to pass before I will meet my girlies for dinner. I will also have to change the discs that are defective. (-. -)

TS is having a Japanese dramas promotion. Each Japanese drama is only selling at $15 only. So if you are interested, remember to drop by TS. Am not very sure when it will end but it is a 3-days promotion.

Shall go get ready now. Tata.

Mini 29/01/2006 - 13/03/2008

Mini
29/01/2006 to 12/03/2008
RIP

She is always the aggressive one yet adorable one.
She loves the touch of anyone.
She escaped from her home last year in March.
She made everyone worried for her and showed up suddenly in one of the rooms.
She was lazy to crack open the sunflower seeds and loves it when others feed her the opened ones.
She had very sharp teeth and loves to chew the toilet roll and her bath house.
She is my darling.
She died peacefully in her fish house.

Darling, may you and Nesie reunite in the other world.
Ham Ham, Nesie and Mini, may they not suffer from anything in the other world.

August Rush

I booked the tickets for August Rush yesterday and collected it today.

Wanted to collect the tickets only when it is time but the express queue become a super long queue thanks to the lady in front of me. She hogged onto the counter for a good 10 minutes (she continue to hold everyone up even after I collected my tickets) and still did not even feel sorry for holding everyone in the queue up.

By the way, when I arrived, she was the only one at the express queue.

I was grumbling to my cousin about express queue is for collection of tickets, not for buying and happily deciding where to sit kind of loudly. I guess the guy at the next counter heard me and also realised that the queue was by then super long and decided to serve me asap. Collecting of my tickets only took me barely 2 minutes and I just cannot understand why the lady can take forever.

Comfortably we settled down at the seats behind. I just love the last row as I don't have to worry about blocking others. Haha.

Somehow I worried too much, only 11 including my cousins and I were in the cinema. -.-

August Rush is good.
The movie slowly but steadily develops and the music is great. As we are slowly getting engrossed in the movie, I started weeping at certain scenes, especially the last.

My cousins including I feel that it is a good movie to watch. Hope you guys will enjoy it as much as we do. =)

Koizora

Koizora

Based on the author's true story, she wrote this book to fulfill a promise she made to the guy she loves the most in the world.

Everything began from high school when both of them were still sixteen.

Their story is still ongoing.

-

I bought the book on Friday when I went to Bugis to buy the ink cartridge. I finished reading it today. The novel is really sweet and sad at the same time. Just thinking that this is a true experience, I can't help but cry.

She wrote on the blackboard:
[你幸福吗?]

Someone replied:
[我很幸福。]

He said:
[那时候很开心,现在更幸福。]

What is bliss?
Having the one you love by your side?
Watching the one you love being loved?

I don't want to spoil it for those who wanted to watch the movie or read the book.

I highly recommend it.

-

The movie is only available in Cathay.

Canon Powershot A470

I bought this camera today. Well, I didn't buy it myself. My cousin helped me to buy it when he went to the IT show today. I went there myself on Friday and took a couple of brochures. By the way, my camera is grey not orange. Hehe.

As for Powershot A80, my mum is using it now and she is truly fascinated by the functions.
Finally my mum is using a good camera with good mega-pixel and zoom. =)

Grandfather's 77th Birthday

It's my grandfather's 77th birthday yesterday!

We went to my youngest uncle(Xiao Shu)'s house and that is our first time there. Hehe.

It is a simple 3-room flat with a small and cozy living room.

There, we saw the majestic rabbit, NOBY!

She was happily running about in the house and she did not even try to escape through the opened door. Hehe. But she is a lot thinner now as compared to when she was at my house.

Before the cake-cutting ceremony, we were all waiting for my bro to come online to say the wishes to my grandfather. While waiting, my aunt decided to show us part of her impressive collections,

BARBIE DOLLS.

I bet there were more than hundreds of them on the display shelf and that is only half of her collection. Each barbie is actually collector's item worth more than $100.

(Hey, why is the groom shorter?)

OMG! So shocked when I saw them despite knowing that my aunt collects barbie dolls. I began to start taking pictures of the dolls.

Shortly, I heard excited shouts from the living room and rushed out to look at my laptop. My bro finally came online and we quickly connected the video and everyone started taking their turns to talk to my bro who also managed to see everyone via the new webcam that we bought for this sole reason. =)

I had a hard time showing my bro the face of everyone there. Lol. I was busy with the webcam when my parents suddenly asked me to quickly go and take photo of my grandfather.

After I positioned myself in front and everyone started to ask for someone to lead the singing of the birthday song, I shouted, "1...2...3. Happy Birthday ..."

Haha. I want to quickly sing the birthday song and take the photos as the camera may die on me anytime. Lol.

Oh, I forgotten to mention about the food. I was SO full. My uncle ordered so much food for barely 30 of us and we had a lot of leftover. So yummilicious. I may be considering this caterer for my birthday. Hehe. =)

Blood Count Results

My blood count results are out. It should be out earlier but my grandmother always pick up the call when the doctor called and just answered 'hello' and nothing else. -.-

Everything is fine except that my Lymphocytes count is slightly higher than the normal range. Higher by 0.22%. Lol. Doctor said that it is nothing to worry about because it is only slightly higher. Lucky me. =P

Cards

I finally changed my ATM card. The protective layer of my ATM had started to chip and come off since last year but it is still usable and the queue at the POSB branch is forever long.

FINALLY

I have been telling my mum I am going to change my ATM card since last year and FINALLY I changed it today.

I was woken up by my mum at 10am to get ready to follow her to bank to do TT (Telegraphic Transfer) to my bro's Australian account. I was so excited to finally be able to do a real TT since International Finance is 'all about talk and no action'. Lol.

Only when I started filling out the form, did I realise that TT is nothing. All is required is a lot of information of the bank in Australian. -.- Thought it will be fun.

After the TT, we went to Singtel to get a SIM card replacement as my bro bought his SIM card to Australian such that he can contact us on the first day. While my mum was waiting for my turn to be called, I made a dash for Golden Village to collect my Movie Club card. =P Hehe. I just join for fun and the card is so cute. Lol. It is the shape of a box of popcorn.

When everything was done, we started to walk towards home but since we are already in the central, I decided to FINALLY change my ATM card. Lol. The queue indeed took forever. I probably queued for a freaking 30 minutes to my turn and spend about 10 minutes to get the necessary arrangements done.

AND
TADA...

2 new cards in my wallet. =D

Bro took off at 9.05pm

Saw the cap on the jacket? That is a billabong cap that my brother and I bought for my brother as a farewell plus birthday gift.

He had already checked in his luggage when we arrived at the airport and he only had his hand luggage, bag, jacket and cap with him.

Family photo taken at the airport while waiting for the gate to open. Coincidentally, my whole family is wearing brown tops.

My parents with my bro.

My second aunt, her daughters and my bro.

Presenting my bro with a farewell card that is filled with lots of love and care from everyone present at the airport. (I closed my eyes at that very moment. -.-)

We will not meet again until December. Thus, we took a big photo of all the cousins.

While waiting for the gate to open, all of us were happily chatting again except for my grandfather who was crying secretly.

I thought I would not cry but when it is time for my bro to board the plane, tears started to well up in my eyes. I tried very hard to control them until I find most of my cousins crying as well. We tried really hard but we just can't help it.

My bro tried hard to fight his tears but he cried as well when he was hugged by his god-mother.

I guess it is just the moment when emotions started to spill. We went to the viewing hall after my bro disappeared from view. We tried to find his plane but it is out of view but we stayed till his plane took off.

I will miss my bro who always sleep late and wake up late. Will only see him again in December. I am looking forward to December already.

Leaving tomorrow

Bro is leaving tomorrow.

It is now confirmed.

My whole family will be there to send him off.

Had a pizza dinner today as a mini farewell dinner.

Anyone can tell me what my bro might need in Australia? Is gloves necessary during the winter season? Thanks in advance.
